Let's Celebrate!

11/23/09

In case you missed my blog swap with Abby, here is a fun project I made for my home a while ago that has been a lot of fun so far. We call it "The Celebration Chalkboard"- its our family's place to write any reason at all to celebrate for the day- it just makes me smile looking at some of the reasons my kids come up with!

(This was MY reason to celebrate- our whole family seen by the dentist and not a single cavity in anybody's teeth- even after Halloween! Its a miracle!)

Here's how to make your own:
(just click on the pictures if you need to enlarge them)

Some of our reasons to celebrate have been:
-Ethan lost his tooth!
- Everyone did their chores!
- We're going to the Hockey Game for FHE!
- It's Friday!
- Uncle Ron is now a missionary!

... just to name a few!

Seriously, my kids try to come up with something new EVERY DAY!
So make your own "Celebration Board" and you'll always find some reason to be happy, no matter how silly the reason is!

Very cool. I'll bet your family would love the liquid chalk board markers. I worked as a barista at starbucks for about a year and that is how we accomplished all the pretty artwork on our chalkboards!

First let me say, "Love Your Blog!"
Thanks for all the hard work you do to help us all become a little more creative.

Question- I have used the chalkboard spray paint and I HATE the way my chalkboard parts turned out. It is very grainy even after I prepped where I was spraying. Does the chalkboard paint "paint" have a smooth finish just like a regular chalkboard?

I like the vinyl lettering added to the chalkboard. It not only makes it unique, but encourages your family to celebrate and be thankful for something, even the small things. Great idea.
