A Gift for My Mother In Law

First off, if your first name is Diane and your last name is the same as mine, stop reading so as not to spoil the surprise of what is coming in the mail for you this Mother’s Day.
For the rest of you, keep reading for a cute, simple idea sure to please any mom!
I am so excited my “long lost friend” (who used to live a mile away from me that now lives 15 miles away whom I NEVER see anymore) has decided to craft with me twice a month!!! I love having a “Crafternoon” with a good friend, and Misty is such a fun person to do it with. She is an AMAZING seamstress and is planning to teach me some of the basics, so I am totally excited! Plus, I get to see her almost as often as I did before her “Big move” (lol) so things are just all around fantastic with our new “crafting club.”
We met together last week and our first craft was Misty’s idea- all I provided was the Mod Podge! Take a look:

Materials Needed:
9 wooden cubes, Mod Podge, sponge brush, scissors, distress ink (though I ended up not using it) and 6 pictures that are the size of 9 blocks put together, about 4″ x 4″. Supplies not shown: Ruler & Pencil
*First off, thanks to my sister in laws for keeping up awesome blogs and facebook pages so I could copy the pictures I needed. Secondly, shame on my own sisters who choose not to stay current with pictures of their families thus making me think of something else to make for mom!
Directions:
On the back of your pictures, measure with a ruler the size of each block and make a grid with your pencil.
Cut each square so your picture is now 9 separate pieces.
Mod Podge each piece of the picture to one cube.
Repeat for all other 5 pictures on the 5 other sides of each cube.
Tie it up with some Tulle and you’re done!
Easy easy! And this is also a super great toy for kids, seeing as though my kids all couldn’t keep their hands off of it!

    Love being a Nonny-
You can buy the wood at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and other craft stores- but their cubes are about a buck a piece. Best thing to do is go to Home Depot, buy a long piece of wood for a couple bucks and have them cut it for you. You'll have a ton of blocks for a lot of other fun projects!

This is too cute. I have a seemingly stupid question. How does one "Mod Podge"? I bought the stuff but the most I've done with it is get it through my front door. It intimidates me. Not sure how to use it. Help! This would make a great father's day gift!
