Last week I was sent a new PUR Advanced Faucet Water Filtration System to try out in my home. If you knew just how AWFUL the water straight from the tap here tastes, you wouldn’t have laughed so hard at my happy dance when this product came to my door, in fact, you may have even started dancing with me!
My husband and I bought a couple different filtration systems when we were newly married and living in Provo, UT where the tap water was also less than desirable. We tried a faucet-mounted system that took FOREVER to install and then didn’t change the taste of our water one bit.
We tried the filtration pitchers that you fill up and stick in the fridge, and while this did make water taste better, neither of us ever remembered to refill it! (It was even worse than the battle over who used the last piece of toilet paper and had to replace the empty roll!) Ps. To this day (11 years later) I think I am the only one who replaces TP rolls. Just sayin’…
About a year or so ago, I was at a gathering with some friends and the disgusting taste of the local water came up (you know, ’cause girls talk about all kinds of randomness) and 2 or 3 of the girls in the group talked about the PUR water filtration system. They were practically walking advertisements for this thing! I remember them saying things like, “The water tastes 100% better!” , “I couldn’t believe how easy it was to install!”, “My kids actually don’t mind drinking water anymore!” … I was intrigued.
So as I mentioned, I was sent one of these to test for myself and I have to say, I love it.
What a difference! And this one is waayyyy nicer looking than the one I bought 11 years ago. I love the chrome faucet filtration system! So not only does this make water taste better, but I feel like my family is drinking healthier too. And not just because we are actually drinking it, but because it just tastes cleaner.
And yes, it was installed with one simple click. Also for convenience, the faucet filtration system features a change-filter indicator light, and the filters are simple to pull out and replace.
We all know how important it is to drink water, and yet most kids drink milk and juice with their snacks and meals. So I want to know- what are your tricks for getting your kids to drink water instead of milk and juice? Leave me a comment in this post and let’s share our ideas! Cheers!
