Blue Plate Special from The Anxoius Crafter

Growing up in my husband’s home, they had the “Red Plate” tradition- the special person of the day got to eat dinner on the red plate, whether it was their birthday, baptism, graduation, a special day at school etc. I really need to adopt this tradition ’cause I think my kids will love it!
Here is a cute take on the same tradition from my “Real Life Friend” Kim, also known as The Anxious Crafter. She is one of the funniest people I have ever met and also has mad crafting skills!

She took a regular old glass plate, added some vinyl and glass etching cream and made this:

(Around the rim it says, “You are special” and in the center they say, “Today is your day!”)
What a fun tradition to start this New Year!

And if you like what you see on Kim’s blog, you won’t want to miss this Thursday’s link party- Kim will be back with a special prize for 1 lucky person!

Ah this brought back great memories! My mom used to have a very similar red plate that we got to use on our birthdays or when we had a special achievement. Great idea to pass on!
