I’m pretty sure winter is my favorite season. I used to think I loved Fall the most, but now that I live in Arizona, Fall is more of an extension of summer and the days can still be a bit toasty. The cooler weather that winter brings and the holiday traditions are what I like most- the countdowns til Santa comes, the meals with our extended family, the music on the radio, the smells, the presents, the real Christmas trees, the traditions and the memories- it is a magical time of year, a time to find comfort and joy and delight in the simple things. Things like…
Spending the morning in my fluffy robe and warm slippers.
Baking treats and sipping hot cocoa.
Making my bed with flannel sheets.
Wrapping up in a cozy blanket
Wearing sweaters and accessorizing with scarves.
Lounging in PJ’s and warm socks in front of the fire.
…and this guy.
And carrying on traditions with the people I love most.
. . . . .
What are your favorite ways to find comfort and joy during the holidays?
Do you carry on any traditions from your childhood?
Is there are favorite meal you love to make or a favorite goody you love to bake?
What is your “simple pleasure”?
Leave me a comment with your ideas and traditions, I’d love to hear from you!
