DIY Blog Design Tips

Hi folks, I am so thrilled to be here at Somewhat Simple today! Big hugs to Steph for inviting me over!

My regular gig is a desserts blog, Something Swanky, and it’s mostly about extremely ridiculous and mass quantities of sugar, cool whip, melting chocolate, and marshmallow cream. But, alas, I brought no dessert with me today. Nope! Today is all about DIY Blog Design Tips.

I’ve been blogging regularly for nearly two years, and somewhere along the way I started tinkering around with my design. When I saw an element on another blog that I loved, I’d spend hours “googling,” trying to figure out how I could make it mine. I even dabbled in doing some paid blog designing on Etsy, but ultimately, I decided that blogging is what I love to do. And if I had to pick one (which I did)– I’d stick with the blogging over the designing. So I ended my 3-month career as a blog designer and began posting a series on Something Swanky about using Picmonkey.com and DIY Blog Design.

I strongly believe that you don’t need to hire a designer or buy a fancy software program to have a beautiful, functional, and totally custom blog design. Everything you need is on the internet for free and totally available to you!

In an effort to help you avoid repeating the same hours of “googling” and hair-pulling that I’ve already done, I’ve compiled all of my DIY Blog Design posts to share with you today!
