This post brought to you by Pep Boys. All opinions are 100% mine.
About 6 months ago, I got a flier stuck in my door from a local company offering to “rid my headlights or their yellow/frosted look”. To be honest, I didn’t even know this was a possibility. I thought in order to “restore” your headlights, you’d have to replace them, so I was intrigued, but not willing to pay the price- (nearly $100!!!)
And then a couple weeks ago, I was sent a fun bucket of goodies from 3M and Pep Boys stores-

This bucket was chalk full of some fabulous products- some that I’ve used before and some products that I was anxious to give a try, like this headlight restoration Kit:

My husband drives a 2003 Honda Civic, and the headlights are VERY yellow and frosted, so I was eager to give this kit a try.
The box makes it looks so simple, but how often do you get half-way through a project and realize this wasn’t really what you had in mind, and it isn’t exaclty turning out like you thought it would? {Just me?} This happens to me a lot.
But my reason (besides curiosity and a little desperation) to give it a shot even if this kit didn’t clear them up as they promised they would, is that I couldn’t imagine the headlights looking any worse than they already did. So I put this kit to the test.

First off, no tools were needed. All you needed to grab was the kit, a spray bottle and paper towels. I also used masking tape to tape off the lights as suggested (just in case!) But I sure love a project that doesn’t require me searching all over the place for a screwdriver!
And guess what? In 15 minutes, these headlights looked freakin’ awesome. Like, brand new. And my husband couldn’t stop raving over it. (Which totally made me smile ’cause how often does he care about my “projects”? …. about as often as they turn out to be wonderful. Which is probably not often.)

The “scrubbing” and “elbow grease” they say you need with this was as effort-less as wiping my counters- seriously, the sanding was not intense at all!

My next-door neighbor came over to see what all the excitement was and he immediately started asking questions, “Where’d you get that? How much is that? Can you do mine next?”
So I gave him the left overs for my kit and he was able to do BOTH of his cars. (Which means 1 kit was plenty for 3 cars! SWEET!) And his headlights look awesome too!
We are getting to the time of year when the roads have even more obstacles- weather-related issues like snow and ice, more drivers on the highways out and about, Daylight Savings means less day light while driving and don’t forget all those kids in dark costumes on the streets on Halloween! These seasonal foes increase the need for vehicle safety and one road hazard that can now be easily fixed are our foggy headlights!

Would love to try this on our Jeep Liberty.
I would love to win this! My headlights got cleaned by the mechanics when they were repairing my car after I got in an accident and I remember thinking to myself that I could finally see again at night! Since I would prefer to clean them myself, I want to have the kit on hand
We have a ten year mini van that needs this treatment. Thank you!
Our cars NEED this badly. They are both older so there is lots of yellowing and with daylight savings coming and long commutes we would benefit greatly!
My husband got a kit from another company and it did absolutely NOTHING to clean up either of our cars’ headlights- would LOVE to try something that you had success with. Thanks for the chance.
My car is a 98 & totally falling apart, totally could use this for my old headlights!

we definitely need this for our car
I need this kit because it’s getting to that time of year where I have to drive in the dark – going to and coming from work. And with all the deer we have around here – I need to see as much around me as possible!
We need this kit for our van – the headlights are starting to look hazy.
I drive a 1998 Lincoln Continental that I love. I drive 40 miles one way to work . In the dark both ways, in northern Minnesota. My headlights are so foggy. It costs a fortune to replace them and needless to say all my spare $ goes right into my gas tank.
