Simplify in Style: My Kitchen Office- See Jane Work at Office Depot

sponsored post

I actually love cleaning my kitchen- it is always the first room I start with and it gets me in the mood to finish the rest of my house. I do however have this one “small” problem. Take a look:

1 before

This is my kitchen office, aka “The Black Hole of Downstairs”

somewhat simple before

The desk in our kitchen is a catch-all for J-U-N-K! Mail, random toys, pocket change, newspapers & magazines, craft misc… it all finds its way to this spot, right in the middle of my kitchen.

The cupboards above are used mainly for stashing random items. My husband uses the right side and I use the left and you never know what is going to fall on your head when you open the doors!

This black hole isn’t as easy to conceal from guests in my home; it is all right there out in the open! I do go through this mess quite often, actually, but it is hard to keep tidy because this space is lacking an organizational system and organizational tools.

So you can probably imagine my excitement when I got a big package in the mail a couple weeks ago that was full of goodies from the See Jane Work collection from Office Depot. It was like Christmas came early!!

I got to work the very same day the package came and made my home office area clean and organized. First, I cleaned, sorted and wiped everything down. Then, I organized the space using my new products, and here is what it looks like now-

Ahh … much better!!!!

Here is a list of the products I used:

See Jane Work® Decorative Storage, Woven Bins, Blue & Black

See Jane Work® Faux Leather Desk Organizer, Black

See Jane Work® Faux Leather Magazine File, Black

See Jane Work® Magnetic Dry-Erase Board, Blue Herringbone

I am loving how this looks! Hopefully the new organization tools will keep things tidier so when the mail comes Monday I don’t have to start all over again!

Next month I’ll show you how I organized my craft area using some of these same products- stay tuned!

The See Jane Work collection is sold exclusively at Office Depot stores and online. For more information on all the products available in this line, visit or follow the Office Depot Facebook page.
