I grew up in a home where there was 1 brand of laundry detergent used and one brand only- Tide! Tide detergent not only cleans my clothes really well, it also smells like “home” and I love it! I’ve tried other detergents over the years and for a while I even used another brand because my husband’s grandma would bring us a bottle each time she’d visit and I wouldn’t want it to go to waste. But then one winter my family visited some relatives and I fell in love with the smell of the sheets in their guestroom. Before I left, I made sure I asked my sister in law what detergent she used, to which she replied “Tide”. I was sold all over again, vowing never to stray from this brand ever EVER!
I was recently sent a package of the Tide Pods detergent and I was happy to review it.
I have to say, laundry is not my chore of choice, in fact I would say I kind of hate it. Like, despise it. But the concept of this detergent was intriguing– it is the only 3-chamber unit dose on the market and just one of the Tide Pods removes more stains than 6 caps of the liquid bargain brand.* Plus my 9 year old even said, “Mom, when you use this detergent, can I help you with the laundry?” So I had an automatic helper, which was bonus points right from the start.
* Based on stain removal performance of 1 pac of Tide Pods vs. 6 doses of the leading liquid bargain brand base variant in a standard top loading machine.
My Opinion:
Not only did this detergent get me to do laundry (which is a pretty awesome task in itself!) I did notice that it definitely did ”clean, brighten, and fight stains” as it said it would. In fact, my whites seemed especially white, and the smell was just as fabulous as the other Tide detergent I’ve been used to smelling for 30 years. Now if I can just get this detergent to fold and put away my clean clothes, that will be even better!
