My Thoughts on this Memorial Day

This Memorial Day, my heart is full and I am ever grateful.

I’ve known the reason we celebrate Memorial Day for as long as I can remember celebrating it, but for some reason this year I’ve been thinking a lot more about the service men and women who have fought {and are still fighting} for the freedoms I enjoy

Not sure why this year my thoughts have been way more focused on this than they were in years past.

{Maybe ’cause I’m thirty now and that means I am automatically super mature!}

I love a good  Memorial Day BBQ, and I sure love the long weekend with my husband home so we can spend time together as a family.

But the only reason we get to enjoy those fun things is because we live in a country with people who fought for our freedoms to live and enjoy life.

How awesome are our troops?

For sure they are the bravest men and women and I admire that bravery, so much.

My heart goes out to their supportive families. Spouses who live life separated by great distances.

Sweet children who grow up missing their moms and dads, who spend holidays apart and long to hug them and never let go.

I’m proud to live in a country with brave men and women who defend our freedoms.

So, to those who fought for our freedom before the US even existed…

To those who fought for civil rights and women’s rights and who keep our country safe today,

To those who gave some, and to some who gave all.

Thank you.

Your bravery is admirable, your strength is encouraging and your pride is motivating.

I think you’re pretty dang fantastic.

I love the following video- but it is a tear jerker for sure! Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
