Today’s Blog Link Party is sponsored by Kirklands.
Last month I was asked to participate in Kirkland’s “Sizzling Summer” blogger series and share my summertime creation that appeals to the entire family.
My family spends quite a bit of time outside in the summertime, but because it is so stinkin’ hot here in Arizona, time spent outside is usually time spent getting wet- swimming, playing in the sprinklers etc. My kids come and go inside and out all day long sometimes!
Right by our back door, we have this little black table:
It’s purpose is supposed to be decorative- a few knick knacks and magazines placed in an orderly fashion. But here is what the table has turned out to be:
A shelter for all the sandals that get kicked off as the kids come in. And I say “kids” but I really mean everyone.
And to be honest, this picture was taken at a good time of the day- usually the sandals are overtaking the floor and they eventually get covered up by pool towels!
But luckily, with the help of Kirkland’s this was all about to change!
I first got some ideas from Kirkland’s website to see what types of solutions they might have available in the store closest to my home. The variety was fabulous, so I piled the kids in the car, and we set off on our Mission: Summer Organization.
And can I just stop here for a minute to say how much I genuinely love this store? I had the hardest time deciding what to buy, and not because there wasn’t anything that struck my fancy, but because I had a budget and I needed to tell myself I couldn’t buy everything I wanted to!
Kirkland’s is a destination for affordable home décor items. And Kirkland’s accent pieces can help you introduce summertime fun into any poolside gathering or get-together with pieces that appeal to everyone.
Ok, so with a goal in mind to organize the mess by my back door, I stumbled across this fabulous chest and made it mine!
Not only is it BEAUTIFUL and it fits my space perfectly, it also serves a great function!
All those shoes…
…now have a place to stay in the top drawer.
But wait, there is more! Look at the inside of the chest:
The perfect spot for our towels and sunscreen! (This picture is a little deceiving- there are actually 6 towels in that basket, not 3. It is roomy!)
I also picked up this little bird cage ($5) and vintage key ring ($2.99) for some added decoration.
to give ONE LUCKY PERSON a $150 gift card to Kirkland’s!!
