I’ve been thinking a lot about how to dress up my home from the outside. I would love to do a complete landscaping overhaul, but we definitely do not have the budget for that, so I decided to create a simple addition that is easy to create as well as easy on the wallet- a ceiling medallion wreath.
Do you like my new wreath?
While browsing ceiling fans a month ago, I saw a display at Lowes for these ceiling medallions:
They are light weight (made from a durable plastic of some sort) and they come in different sizes and designs. I think they range in price from about $10- $25 or so. The one I bought was $15.
I took it home, added some paint to make the design pop, and hung it with some ribbon for my front door now!
The red ribbon with the blue and white wreath will be perfect to keep up for Independence Day, but I’m excited to change out the ribbon for the seasons and holidays.
I think a wreath is such a fun way to welcome your guests and add some color to your home.
And here is a simple way to hang a wreath by ribbon instead of using a door hook-
A thumb tack!
So what do you think?

This is just so cute!!
I think it looks great! I never would have thought of that!
it is crazy how little things like potted plants can make such a huge impact!
Thanks for hosting! Have a great weekend 🙂
I have a painting project to finish up and that Lowe’s gift card would sure help!
oh wow! well, first off I would make one of the ceiling tile wreaths. . .LOVE! then I would buy stuff for my garden. . .thanks so much!
oh my gosh – how would i spend it? let’s see…..little wall in backyard, paint for awning, new light fixtures in front yard, new house numbers, new plants for backyard, paint for family room, new door knobs for house (get rid of brass!)….i could think of a million things to do with it!! :)))
Funny – I’d spend part of it on ceiling medallions! I’ve been planning to paint and hang a few in the dining room. I love this wreath idea.
We need to stain the trim on our house so that would be first on the list. Then flowers!!!!!
I’d buy paint! There are so many surfaces of our home, inside and out, that need a fresh coat.
Would love some lighting for our new portico our son made for us!
Flowers and/or lumber for my husband to build us a new headboard.
I would use it for a medallion wreath, and something else to spice up our new rental house. It fell straight out of the 60s right into our lap and we’re in love, but we need to spruce it up to show off its MCM glory. Thanks for all you do on your blog, especially your link parties-they’re some of the best on the web!
Love this wreath! If I won the gift card, I’d use it to do your exact project, then I’d take what was left and get something adorable for the garden for the summer!
I actually saw an arbor that I would love to put in my side yard with some side vinyl fencing. I would put the $100.00 towards that!
I would use the Lowe’s gift card to make a few more messes around my house … perhaps some spicy RED paint on my front door! 🙂
I would spend it on that neverending basement to do list!
What a great giveaway! I would buy wainscoting wallpaper and pretty plants for my backyard.
I am working on my front yard now and I would LOVE the extra help to get it done!! It could really go a long way!!
edging! we have plastic black edging and i’d love something a little nicer.
We really need to add some curb-appeal to our house. Front door and pillars need repainting, siding needs washing, need more perennials and long-term plants out front!
LOVE this idea! I’d probably knock-off your idea (so darling) and then I’d buy paint. Our walls are sad and depressing and I’d love to change that!
To win $$ from Lowes? It definitely wouldn’t be hard to spend! How about some paint for my plain jane house, or a new rug for my office, or some new planters for the front door. See how easy? Love your blog and thanks for hosting a terrific party!!
Blessings,
Lori
If I won, I’d spend it on garden supplies. I’m planting a row for the hungry.
Flowers, plants and more flowers! And maybe a tree to replace the one lost over the winter 🙂
Our outside definitely needs some help. I’d probably start with house numbers and then work on our pathetic flowerbed!
I love your new wreath! What a cute idea! 🙂
If I won the gift card, I would give it to my parents in law for being amazing. They could put it towards remodeling their kitchen.
Thank you so much for the chance to win!
xo! Vanessa
I would buy paint. I want to create an accent wall in my bedroom and do a cool texture to it as well!! Hope I win!
I would love to give our kitchen a much needed painting update, the cabinets are horrendous!
We’re in the process of doing some landscaping around the house & would love to add some finishing touches with a gift card from Lowe’s! We could use some flowers & some shrubs to go around the house – it would definitely be put to good use!
Super cute idea! We are buying a new home so I have a milllion things I could spend it on!
I would spend it on my garden! Or some closet organizers for the master bedroom. So many choices!
We’re trying to spruce up the master bedroom, so I’d spend it in there. Thanks for the giveaway- and I love that medallion wreath! Way to think creatively!
That thumb tack trick is amazing! I make a new wreath every month. I really don’t like the look of wreath hangers. Thanks so much for the tip!
I’d use the gift card for organization solutions. My house is in need of a major organization make over!
I would give it to my Dad for Father’s Day!
I love the wreath, but I LOVE how you hung it! Genius! $100 at Lowes would burn a hole in my pocket! I would definitely use it to make some great flower boxes for my front porch and fill them with gorgeous blooms. Thanks for the party AND the giveaway!
Good Morning! Yes, I love the wreath, that is super creative and I love that it is plastic so it would be easy to hang anywhere. Thank you so much for hosting each week, there is a ton of talent here. How would I spend a Lowe’s card? My “craft room” is truly a mess and I would use it to complete the shelving that I need, repaint my existing pieces, and use the remainder for organizing bins and hooks. Oooh that was fun to spend in my head too 🙂
Hugs, Tanya
I use that same trick to hang wreaths!
We’re about to remodel a bathroom and we love Lowes!
plants and pots and flowers and plants and pots and flowers. 🙂
txs!
We are retiling the bathrooms – I could use it toward that for sure!
Thank you for regularly hosting a link party. There are always so many great ideas to look at and be inspired by!!
~Stephanie
With $100 I’d put it towards the bathroom reno we’ve been forced to do thanks to a broken pipe! I really NEED to win!
Oh the possibilities are endless! But it would probably go towards paint. I have several projects I am wanting to do and they all involve paint.
Thanks!
Thanks so much for hosting! I hope you are having a great week.
Oh, gosh! With “operation finish basement” under way, a Lowes gift card would be AMAZING…they pretty much know us by name at our local Lowes since we are there every few days to pick up supplies! Right now we would use it for concrete mix…
What fun! I would build some cafe shelves for my laundry room and do a little landscaping.
Thanks for hosting! I would use the Lowe’s gift card to complete some landscaping in the front and backyard! Or make a headboard… Or complete our kitchen backsplash… Or anything else on my TO DO list. 🙂
I REALLY want to put in some pull-out cab.’s in my kitchen. Would like a slide out trash cab. Oh and some pretty flowers for the patio.
Cute wreath! I would use the money to buy a new light fixture for my master closet – it’s way too dark in there!
I would spend the $100 on garden and bedding plants! This girl can never have enough of either!!
Today, I’ve linked up my Simple, Spicy Salsa recipe (#247 ) that’s super easy to make and pretty stinkin’ yummy. It’s cheap to make at home and it’s good for you! Thanks for hosting the party and have a great day!

lighting, lighting, lighting! lowe’s has awesome galvanized steel exterior sconces that we’d love to bring inside to spice up our bathrooms in our new house! well, at least they’re at the top of our loooong lowe’s list!
Thank you for hosting!!
Thank you for hosting a super party:) And I would love to win anything from Lowe’s but if I won this I would spend it on remodeling my cabinets.
I would love to win this! We are moving soon and I need to stock up on paint and hardware so I can paint the kitchen cabinets =)
Working on remodel in Laundry Room and I could/would use the Gift Card for new light fixture and some cabinets/shelves. Thanks for the giveaway and for hosting another great party!! [email protected]
I would go plant shopping like a crazy cat lady in a pet store… 🙂
I linked up my DIY Strawberry Foot Scrub. Thanks for hosting again this week. Smiles, Paula
What a great idea for a wreath – love it!!!
Many thanks for hosting
Hugs,
Suzan
I am simply in love with this wreath…PIN!
I would add some flowers to my empty pots on the back porch. I love LOWES!
Our screen porch needs some serious love and we need to replace some of the plants in the island in our front yard … and maybe a ceiling medallion, too!!
Hmmmm, that’d be a tough decision. I’d love to get some of the “wants” on my list (textured wallpaper to make a wall hanging, a welcome mat for the front door, a fruit tree, etc.); however, I better go with the “needs” list first! So, I’d have to say a new light fixture to replace the broken one in my office!
Spray paint, some 2×4’s and some new house numbers!
Oh that’s tough! I’d have to say paint for my kitchen cabinets or maybe towards some new flooring… LOVE Lowes! Thanks for the Party & great giveaway.
I Love how your wreath turned out…so creative! I would use the gift card on flowers for my backyard!
Sally
Love the wreath!!! What a fabulous idea! Thanks for hosting the link party! Have a great day:)

We need plants/pots/curb appeal desperately! All of which, is not in our budget. Gift card would be wonderful!
I would get wood filler, red paint and new hardware to enhance my front door and improve curb appeal.
Ooooh! Awesome giveaway! I would finally address our dirt planters out front :/ (Embarassing!)
LOVE your wreath, Steph!! Thanks for hosting! XO
We are going to put in a new flower bed in the front yard and a small paver extension off the driveway. We could use all the help we can get, especially from our favorite store!
I’d love to spruce up the curb appeal at my house too, some flowers in the front would be lovely!
I would paint my front door – maybe a nice buttery yellow color!
I love your ceiling medallion wreath idea!! That is so creative! If I won the gift card, I would spend it on paint for my kitchen. My 1960’s cabinets desperately need it! :0)
I would use it to purchase patio furniture! I have a new patio but nothing to make it pretty!!! Your project add a great touch to your door!
I would spend it on beadboard or flowers! Or put it towards a backsplash for the kitchen…so many options!! =)
Lowes is my home away from home! I would go wild in their garden center with $100!
Thank you for hosting!

I would buy planters for my front porch and reclining chairs to enjoy this lovely weather!
I would make a garden trellis.
I don’t think I’m eligible for the draw because I live in Canada, but I just wanted to say thank you for hosting this lovely party and hope you have a lovely week! Angie xo
Well our water heater just blew up and we’ve replaced it but we do have some fixing up to do to the rooms that it damaged. Every little bit would help!!!!
I’ll tell you what I would NOT buy…stuff we needed. We’ve spent way too much money replacing things that have broke this month. I want to make my little guy a tent…so I would buy stuff for that likely. Or maybe stuff to make a playhouse.
Oooo! I like! I would really like to make a welcome sign for my front door. Lowe’s would definitely help! Fingers crossed!
I would buy a lawnmower for my new home yard….or more plants for my flower bed…I love that wreath…now I have it on my “mental” wish list…
Thank you for hosting! Love the medallion wreath idea, so cute! Little Bit

My front porch needs help! It’s concrete and desperately needs a new coat of paint, along with my front door. Add some flowers and voila!
I need some planters to go on on either side of my front door!
what a gorgeous wreath!
thanks for hosting
I live in a condo so the only outdoor decorating I can do is a wreath/door decoration. I’d love to do something creative like what you did with the medalion.
I would put up some house numbers and a cobblestone sidewalk!
I would love for Lowe’s to help me improve our home exterior with either paint or a pergola. 🙂
I need something pretty plants that our drought resistant and $100 would be awesome.
flowers, flowers, and more flowers. My mom just came up with what to add to my existing landscape to make it better and I would love to get started!
