Chick-Fil-A Copycat Recipe
Is anyone else out there a Chick-fil-A frosted lemonade addict? It’s definitely one of my favorites. While I really like it, my husband LOOOOVES it! We’re really making an effort right now to save money, though, since we have a big move coming up in a few months. That means, unfortunately, that eating out has become a rare treat, and our weekly visits to Chick-fil-A are a thing of the past.
It was high time to learn how to make some of our favorites at home, so I decided to start with this delicious Chick-fil-A frosted lemonade! I just recently ordered one from my local restaurant and it was so delicious that I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. I love that it has just a few ingredients, and still turns out wonderful!
How To Make Frosted Lemonade
Lemonade Mixture – You’ll need to start by first making the lemonade mixture. Mix the water, sugar and lemon juice together and giving it a good stir until it’s fully mixed.
Chill – I like to let the mixture chill before making the frosted lemonade. I’ll put it in the freezer for about 45 minutes until it’s nice and cold.
Blend – For each serving of the frosted lemonade, you’ll want to add 1 cup of the lemonade mixture along with 4 (about 1 1/2 cups) scoops of ice cream to the blender. Blend it until it’s nice and smooth and then serve it immediately.
Frosted Lemonade Recipe Tips
Fresh Lemons – I used fresh lemon juice from lemons grown on my sister-in-law’s tree, and it was fantastic in this recipe. I think it’s important to use a high quality lemon juice (and fresh lemons if at all possible) since the lemon is kind of the star of the show here.
Premium Ice Cream – I also think it makes a difference to use a really good quality creamy ice cream. Tillamook is our favorite brand, but feel free to use whichever is your favorite!
Presentation – I’m all about the presentation of a delicious recipe. Serve these is stylish Mason jar mug with a yellow-striped straw and you’re all set!
