Love our Tic Tac Labels, but only want to print off one or two? We’ll walk you through the steps on how to edit a PDF to help you with Printing Individual Tic Tac Labels !

Printing Individual Tic Tac Labels

We are tickled pink by how much everyone has loved our Tic Tac Labels! However, we’ve run into some issues with how to present the files to our readers. We used to have them separated, but some people wanted them all together so they didn’t waste paper. So we created our files to have multiples of the same label on a page. But then some people wanted just one and didn’t want to waste ink. We were stumped. What could we do to reach the needs of everyone? Realizing that we just can’t accommodate everyone, we decided to put them all on one page, and people could just use editing software for their individual needs.

But recently, that has created problems as well. What we had assumed would be an easy solution has led to a few emails from people asking for help. So here we are! We want our readers to be happy, so we’ve decided to create a post dedicated to helping you out!

Here is a video of the process on a Mac, but the written step by step for both Macs and PCs is below –

Printing Individual Tic Tac Labels – How to Edit a PDF

If you are using a Mac:

  • First, you’ll want to click on your downloads folder and find the Tic Tac Labels PDF, then click that file.
  • Click the toolbox icon on the window that opens up (it should be the preview app that does this).

  • Click the Select Tool (dashed line box), and select the label you want to use – start at the top left corner of the label you want to select, click, and while holding down the mouse, drag down to the bottom right part of the label.

  • In the menu, click Edit, then Copy, or just press command c (at the same time) on your keyboard.

  • Open up your Word type program (I have Pages), or you could even open up a new google doc.
  • Select Edit from the top menu, and then click Paste, or just press command v on your keyboard.

  • Drag to where you would like the label to be, and then continue to press Paste, or command v until you have the desired number of labels on your page.

  • Click Save and save to your computer if you’re sending it in to a print shop, or press print if using your own computer, and you’re done!

If you are using a PC:

(Sorry – we don’t have images since we use Macs, but the menus should look similar)

  • First, you’ll need to download and install a PDF reader – I recommend using the free program Adobe Reader. Also, before you download the Adobe Reader installer, make sure you deselect the McAfee box. This will prevent the installation of unwanted toolbars in your browser.
  • Next, you’ll want to open the Tic Tac PDF in Adobe Reader. How? Good news: when you install Adobe Reader, it makes itself the default app for PDF’s, so it should open when you double-click your Tic Tac Label PDF file from your downloads folder.
  • When the screen opens up, right-click on the PDF and choose Select Tool. This will allow you to select a specific area in the PDF.
  • Click and drag to create a selection box – start at the top left corner of the label you want to select, click, and while holding down the mouse, drag down to the bottom right part of the label.
  • In the top menu, find the file that says Edit. Then click copy. Or you can press ctrl c (at the same time) on your keyboard.
  • Open up  Word, or a similar program. (You can even open a google doc)
  • In your Word or other program, select Edit from the top menu, then click Paste. Or press ctrl v to paste your label.
  • Drag to where you would like the label, and then continue to press paste or ctrl v until you have the desired number of labels on your page.
  • Click Save and save to your computer if you’re sending it in to a print shop, or press print if using your own computer, and you’re done!
