How to Insert a PDF File Into a Blog Post

One of my new contributors had a question about how to insert a PDF file into a blog post and I figured she is probably not the only one with this question, so I may as well make a tutorial of it! You will be surprised at just how easy it is!

First, I should mention that this tutorial is for a WordPress blog post. It has been a while since I have posted on Blogger, so I don’t know if they have this option now or not, but for those of you on Blogger, I encourage you to play around and see if they do.

1. From your post composition page, simply click the same button you would click when you want to add a picture

2. Click the button “Select Files”

3. Select the file on your computer- make sure you choose the PDF.

4. Once the file is uploaded, you will see it on your screen.

5. Now here is the important part:

First, change the title to be the text you want your readers to see. I changed mine to say “CLICK HERE FOR THE FREE DOWNLOAD”

Second, click the “File URL” button.

Third, click “Insert into Post”.

And then you will see your new “title” as a link in your compose window, like this:

When you publish your post, your readers can click that link and a new window will pop up with the beautiful PDF you made just for them!

Easy, right?

Let me know if you have any questions, and if you know how to do this on blogger, I’d love for you to leave a link in the comment section to the tutorial so we can learn that too!
