Trace the outline of a mummy with your pencil onto your black paper.
Tear off strips of masking tape and lay them in a random criss-cross pattern all over the body of the mummy. If you have a hard time seeing the mummy outline once your tape is on, you can retrace your mummy pattern on top of the tape.
Cut the body of the mummy out, then glue down your eyes where you want them to be.
Color and cut out any paper doll accessories included in the printable, and attach them to your mummy.
If you are planning to make these in a big group or for a class art project, you can do a little prep work beforehand that will help this project run even smoother:
- Draw all the bodies on the black paper so they won't even need a pattern or white pencil.
- Wrap masking tape around craft sticks and stick two eyes onto each stick with glue dots.
With this preparation, each student was given a piece of black paper + the printables, and a craft stick. All they needed from their desks were their own scissors, crayons, and glue.
The kids taped the craft stick to the back of their mummies and made a cute puppet!
