Preheat the oven to 350°. Spray a 13x9" baking pan with cooking spray, or line the pan with parchment paper.
Make the Candied Bacon. Place 5-6 strips of bacon on a frying pan or skillet over medium heat. Rub the top side with brown sugar and cook for 2 minutes, or until sugar is melted. Flip the bacon, then rub more brown sugar over the backside and cook for 2 more minutes, or until sugar is melted. Continue cooking until crispy, another minute or so, flipping as needed.
Remove from heat to cool, and repeat the process with the remaining pieces of bacon. I like to let my bacon cool on a baking sheet lined with brown paper bags. DO NOT PUT THE BACON ON NAPKINS OR PAPER TOWELS - the sticky sugar will stick to the paper towels and it's hard to separate.
Meanwhile, make the brownie mix according to package directions. Set aside.
Once the bacon has cooled, chop it into 1/2-inch pieces.
Add half of the bacon to the brownie batter, then pour the batter into the prepared pan.
Sprinkle the remaining bacon pieces on top of the batter.
Bake according to your brownie box directions, (usually 28-30 minutes) or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and cool in the pan, on a wire rack, for five minutes.
Cut the brownies into squares and serve them warm or at room temperature with a glass of milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
