Hard Boiled Eggs in the Instant Pot

Making hard boiled eggs is not hard, it's just one of those things that unless you do it often, the method is easy to forget! Instant pot hard boiled eggs are made in 10 minutes and they come out perfectly every time!

Ingredients

  • Eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • pressure cooker with metal rack or steamer insert
  • slotted spoon
  • large bowl with ice and water

Instructions

  • Place your wire rack or steamer basket in the pressure cooker. Add 1 cup of water.
  • Gently place your eggs inside the pressure cooker and lock the lid.
  • Turn the pressure cooker to LOW or use the Rice/Risotto setting.
  • Set the timer for 9-10 minutes and begin cooking the eggs. If you are using the Rice/Risotto button, the timer will set automatically.
  • When the cooking process is done, release the pressure valve to let all the steam out.
  • Pull the eggs out immediately with a slotted spoon and drop the carefully into your bowl of ice water.
  • Let them cool for 5-10 minutes. Peel the eggs or store them in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Notes

Don't use freshly gathered eggs for this recipe. Make sure your eggs are at least 10 days old before using them.
The ice bath is essential for getting eggs that will be easy to peel.  You'll want to make sure they have completely cooled before peeling them.
