for the donuts:
- 1 tube of refrigerated biscuit dough
- vegetable oil enough to fill your frying pan so your raw dough floats and is half submerged
for the glaze:
- 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons of milk
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla
- toppings and flavorings optional
Heat oil over your stove in a large frying pan on medium-high heat. Take the biscuits out of their packaging and flatten them a bit with your hands. Cut out the centers with a water bottle cap or small cookie cutter. Save the middle-pieces for some delicious donut holes!
Gently place the dough into the oil and watch carefully as it begins to brown. It only takes about a minute! Flip the dough with some tongs once the underside is golden.
Continue frying until both sides of your donuts are light brown and cooked through the center. Remove from the oil and place on a plate lined with paper towels. Pat the excess oil off and let it cool.
Mix the powdered sugar, milk and vanilla in a medium bowl until smooth. Add more milk or powdered sugar if the glaze is too thick or thin.
Dip your donuts, one at a time, in the bowl until the donut is half submerged. Transfer to a wire cooling rack. Dip each donut one more time to get a nice, thick layer of icing. Add sprinkles or toppings, then let the glaze harden completely before serving.
Eat and enjoy!
