Add the ground beef and sausage to a large pot over medium heat. Cook, crumbling into small pieces, until browned and cooked through. Remove the meat from the pot to a plate.
Add the olive oil, onion, garlic, celery, and carrot to the same pot, and sprinkle with the salt. Cook 3-5 minutes, until the vegetables are softened and the onions are translucent.
Add the meat back into the pot, then add the crushed tomatoes, sugar, parsley, basil, oregano, and Worcestershire, and stir to combine.
Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat to medium low. Cook, stirring frequently, for 30 minutes, until thickened.
