Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
Add the sugar and whipping cream and stir until combined. Simmer on low for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat.
Stir in the salt and mix until combined.
Add the marshmallows and stir until melted.
Stir in the cereal. You can add up to 2 more cups of marshmallows if you want them extra fluffy.
Spray your hands with cooking spray and spread into a 9×13 pan. Push it down nice and tight to make it all fit. (This is key for making thick rice krispie treats!)
Cool, cut into squares, and serve!
