Some exciting changes to the youth programs of the church were announced at the October 2019 General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In addition to the releasing of the Young Men’s Presidencies and the retiring of the Young Women’s class names, Sister Bonnie H. Cordon announced a new Young Women’s theme. While some of the phrases from the previous theme are still included, new wording has been added… and it is perfect!
What Is The New Young Women Theme?
The new Young Women theme states:
I am a beloved daughter of Heavenly Parents, with a divine nature and eternal destiny.
As a disciple of Jesus Christ, I strive to become like Him. I seek and act upon personal revelation and minister to others in His holy name.
I will stand as a witness of God at all times and in all things and in all places. As I strive to qualify for exaltation, I cherish the gift of repentance and seek to improve each day.
With faith, I will strengthen my home and family, make and keep sacred covenants, and receive the ordinances and blessings of the holy temple.
Young Women around the world will repeat this new theme before their Sunday lessons. It is a simple reminder to young women that each of them is a special daughter of Heavenly Parents. It outlines their purpose and reminds them of what their focus should be – personal revelation, ministering, repentance, and receiving temple blessings.
