Valentine Mailbox

Have you checked your Target dollar bins lately?
I bought each of my kids their own tin mailbox for $1 and yesterday we decorated them for Valentines Day. Here is how we did it:
Materials Needed:
-Mailbox
-Tissue Paper
-Mod Podge
Sponge Brush

Directions:
1. Rip the tissue paper into strips.
2. Put a thin layer of Mod Podge over the mailbox. Then start layering your strips of tissue paper on top, covering the center of the mailbox and adding more Mod Podge where needed.

(Here is my 1 year old just having a blast with it!)
The best part about these is that you cannot mess it up! My 7 year old changed his mind a million times and just kept starting over, which was totally fine! Its easy to rip the paper off and try something else!
I intended on embellishing these just a bit more with ribbons and such, but this is for the kids, its their craft, so we kept it simple and just added their initials in vinyl to the front.

And that’s it!

I have 10 of these mailboxes sitting downstairs that I was going to make for my nieces and nephews. I had a different idea but didn't have the time so I thought I wouldn't be able to finish them. But we can do this!! Thanks so much for sharing your ideas.

I have to say that your target, and probably everyone else's must be way better than mine because we have no metal mailboxes :( But, that wouldn't stop me! I made each of us a mailbox out of cardstock and my kids think they are great! (But oh so much harder to store!!!)

We have those mailboxes too. I let the kids plaster stickers all over them, shame on me! Because I could have done what you did! CUTE.

These look just like something you'd see at Pottery Barn but without the huge price. They are absolutely adorable. I think I could even do this :)
