Pilgrim Hat Cookies are a perfect non-pie dessert for your Thanksgiving feast. They’re also a great way to keep the kids busy while you’re trying to finish up the last-minute details of the meal. They’re fun to create, and fun to eat!
You can keep things really simple and leave them as cookies, or you can place them on top of some cupcakes for a simple Thanksgiving cupcake topper. They are super easy to make, and I am sure your kids will love to help assemble them. Here’s how –
How To Make Pilgrim Hat Cookies
In just a few easy steps you’ll be able to make a plate full of these delicious and adorable cookies!
INGREDIENTS –
- vanilla frosting
- orange food coloring
- fudge-striped cookies
- Resse’s bite-sized peanut butter cups, unwrapped
- mini M&Ms
- frosted cupcakes, optional
DIRECTIONS –
- Add several drops of orange food coloring to your vanilla frosting and mix well until you have your desired color.
- Turn your cookies with the solid fudge side placing up, then place a heaping spoonful of orange frosting in the center of your cookie.
- Stick your peanut butter cup on top of the frosting, with the smaller side facing up. Push down gently so the orange frosting forms a ring around the peanut butter cup.
- Put an M&M candy into the orange frosting so it rests against the peanut butter cup.
- And you’re done! You can add a pilgrim hat cookie to the top of a frosted cupcake, but these cookies do look great on their own!
