These simple strawberry pretzel squares have layer upon layer of deliciousness! A crunchy pretzel crust topped with a sweet cream cheese layer and fresh strawberry topping – they are simple to make and taste amazing!
One of my favorite things to do as a family is to invite friends over for dinner. I love getting to know new people, and having guests over is a great way to expand our social circle. Dinner doesn’t need to be complicated or difficult to make, and we often serve simple meals like chicken tacos or enchiladas. Where I really like to let my cooking shine is with a fantastic dessert, and these strawberry pretzel squares are perfect to serve guests. They’re completely delicious, and everyone loves them!
How to Make Strawberry Pretzel Squares
These strawberry pretzel squares are so easy to make! I like to make them in the morning, then let them chill in the fridge until guests come over in the evening. To make them, you’ll start by baking a delicious salty and sweet pretzel crust, then spread a layer of creamy cheesecake filling over the top. The filling is a mixture of sweetened cream cheese and Cool Whip, and it is to. die. for!
The next layer is a mixture of strawberry gelatin and fresh berries. Gently spoon it over the top of the cheesecake layer, then let the whole thing set up in the fridge until the gelatin is firm. It’s so simple and so delicious!
When you’re ready to serve, cut the dessert into squares and serve immediately. These strawberry pretzel squares are the perfect combination of crispy and creamy, and salty and sweet. Every time I serve them, they disappear almost as soon as I bring them out. They’re just that good!
Of course, one of the less fun aspects of having friends over for dinner is all of the dishes to wash afterwards. It’s definitely a small price to pay for a fun evening, but sometimes those dishes can be a real chore. These strawberry pretzel squares, in particular, tend to make a huge mess of my favorite baking dish!
Luckily, I recently discovered DishFish sponges, and they make cleaning even stuck on food a breeze! They’re durable and won’t fall apart, even with intense scrubbing, and they’re easy to maneuver into tight spaces. They’re designed to quickly release grease, food, and water so bacterial odors don’t build up, and the sponges stay fresh and clean. I especially love that they stand up to dry, so they’re not just sitting in a puddle and getting yucky.
The DishFish sponges easily clean stuck on food, without scratching or damaging the surfaces they’re cleaning. They made short work of my stuck-on strawberry pretzel mess!
What could be better than sparkling clean dishes with almost no effort on my part? These little sponges make dinner party cleanup a breeze! To grab your own, purchase on Amazon today!

We serve this every year too. Your name addresses the seemingly endless argument of is it a dessert or salad. It’s a salad in our house!
I’m with you, it’s definitely a salad…that way I can still have dessert.:)
Have you ever used frozen strawberries in place of fresh? Would I thaw them completely or just enough to cut/slice or do you not recommend trying them? Thanks.
I’ve never tried them, but let me know if you do and if it works, that would be awesome!
This dessert is always a crowd pleaser!! The combination of crunchy & sweet is what makes it so delicious!!

Yum, my mom made a dessert just like this when I was a kid and we called it strawberry pretzel dessert. I haven’t had it for years. I’m totally a fan of pretzels in dessert though….may have to let my kids try and see if they like it as much as I did. Thanks for the recipe!
Yum! This sounds completely delicious. My mother-in-law makes a Jell-O casserole that has pretty much the same ingredients as this only it isn’t in bar form. I’m going to have to make these for her! Thanks so much for sharing — have a great weekend!
my grandma makes these – yum!!
