These easy Gyro Tacos combine Greek-inspired flavors with taco-night simplicity for a quick, family-approved dinner ready in 30 minutes.

If your family is anything like mine, taco night is sacred. It’s the one dinner everyone actually agrees on—and no one complains about what’s being served. But after years of rotating through the same ground beef, shredded chicken, and fish tacos, I needed a little inspiration.
Enter these Gyro Tacos—the perfect mashup of Mediterranean flavor and taco-night fun.

This recipe came together one night when I had a pound of ground turkey in the fridge, some leftover tzatziki sauce from a weekend BBQ, and a craving for something fresh. I figured, why not toss it all into a soft tortilla and call it dinner?
Turns out, it was one of those happy kitchen accidents that quickly made its way into our regular rotation.
These tacos are light, flavorful, and ridiculously easy—ready in under 30 minutes and made with simple ingredients you probably already have. The lemon juice and oregano give the turkey that classic Greek flavor, while the crisp veggies and creamy tzatziki keep things fresh and bright.

Ingredients
For the taco filling:
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- ½ cup chopped red onion
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tsp oregano
- Salt + black pepper, to taste
For serving:
- 8 soft-taco sized flour tortillas
- 1 cup tzatziki sauce
- 1 cucumber, diced
- 3 roma tomatoes, diced
- 2 cups shredded Romaine lettuce
- ½ cup crumbled feta

Directions
- Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sauté red onion and garlic for 2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add ground turkey, lemon juice, and oregano. Cook while breaking the meat apart with a spatula until it’s browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes.
- Remove from heat, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Warm the tortillas, then layer with turkey, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, tzatziki, and feta.
Serve immediately—and if your family’s anything like mine, don’t expect leftovers.

Tips & Variations
- Swap the meat: Ground chicken or beef both work great if that’s what you have on hand.
- Make it saucy: If you love bold flavors, add extra tzatziki or a drizzle of lemony Greek dressing.
- Meal prep it: Cook the turkey filling ahead of time and refrigerate for up to 3 days—it reheats perfectly for busy weeknights.
These Gyro Tacos hit that perfect balance of comfort food and freshness, making them a go-to for any night when you want something quick but crave-worthy.
