Here’s a simple recipe –
How to Make Chicken and Waffles
INGREDIENTS –
- waffles – homemade Belgian waffles are my favorite, but if you don’t feel like breaking out the waffle iron, grab some store-bought waffles from the freezer section at the grocery store.
- crispy chicken strips – homemade or storebought works fine. I prefer to use chicken breasts, but you can definitely use the whole chicken. (Chicken thighs taste amazing!)
- syrup – maple or hot honey
- optional toppings – soft or melted butter, cilantro, pickles, tomatoes, shredded cheese, bacon, hot sauce, cayenne pepper, and paprika.
INSTRUCTIONS –
- Build your dish by placing 2-3 chicken strips on top of your waffle.
- Drizzle with syrup and garnish with cilantro.
- Eat and enjoy!
VARIATIONS –
- Place chicken strips between two smaller waffles to make a waffle sandwich.
- Use spicy chicken strips for even more heat.
