This delicious and easy to assemble appetizer board is packed full of the best appetizers for kids! You’re guaranteed to win over even the pickiest of eaters at your next party!
When my kids find an appetizer they like at a party, they’ll eat they’ll devour the entire dish. Some of their other favorite kid friendly appetizers are Sweet and Sour Meatballs, Homemade Pizza Bites, and Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings.
Kid Friendly Appetizers
Who else has picky eaters in their family? Whether your kids refuse to eat anything green, or they run screaming at the slightest hint of spiciness, it can definitely make planning your party menus challenging. This kid friendly appetizer board is the perfect solution that can be served at a party or any other gathering! It’s loaded with kid-pleasing foods, but still elegant and festive. It’s the perfect addition to any holiday spread!
My kids are generally pretty good about trying new things, but when faced with a spread of unfamiliar foods at a party, they tend to double down on their pickiness and complain that they don’t like anything! Having some familiar foods on hand is a great way to keep them happy while throwing new flavors in the mix. I can often convince them to try a bite or two of something new if they know they have something they like on their plate already. Are you with me on this? Oh good. Let’s be friends.
Easy Appetizers for Kids
This kid friendly appetizer board is so easy to put together, and even easier to eat! Here’s some ideas of what to include:
- A fun serving tray or cutting board (we love this one from Walmart!)
- A few quick frozen foods – taquitos, mini tacos, pizza bites, Stuffed Mac & Cheese, etc.
- Assorted crackers
- Sliced cheese
- Naan or flatbread
- Hummus, marinara sauce or cheese spread
- Handful of different chocolates (I love using Hershey’s kisses because they usually have ones for different seasons. M&M’s are also good to use!)
- Fresh parsley
- Marinara sauce
How To Make Kid Friendly Appetizers
- Cook all frozen foods according to the package directions, then let cool slightly.
- Arrange warmed foods on the tray with the sauce(s) for dipping.
- Arrange the cheddar on the board with a selection of crackers.
- Cut the naan or flatbread bread into wedges and arrange around the sauce.
- Add a bowl of candy for a touch of sweetness.
- Decorate with sprigs of parsley to make it festive and colorful.
How To Store These Appetizers
If you have any of these fun kid party appetizers left over at the end of the night, you’ll want to store each item separately. If you store the cheese or pizza bites with the bread and crackers, the moisture in them will make your crackers a little soggy. Be sure to place each item in an airtight container and they can be stored in the refrigerator for about 5-7 days. I also like to store any leftover sauces and dips in small deli containers for easy storage.
