Fun Cupcake Recipe
Cupcakes in a Jar are simple time-saving treats that are less messy to eat than your average cupcake. Make them a day or two before your next party and they’ll be fresh and ready to go just when you need them!
You can use whatever cupcake and frosting flavors you want. Keep it simple with a boxed cupcake mix, or go all out with a homemade recipe. For these cupcakes, I used a Devil’s food cake mix and my favorite homemade buttercream frosting. (This combo is one of my very favorites!)
While you can definitely bake your cupcake batter directly inside glass mason jars, this simple method bakes the cupcakes in a regular cupcake pan, then separates them in half before layering each piece with tasty frosting.
You’re basically getting double the frosting for your cupcake and a cute little jar to eat it in… and I’m not complaining about this one bit!
Here’s how to make them –
Things You’ll Need
- Cupcakes – cooked and cooled
- Frostin – pick your favorite
- Sprinkles – can’t forget these!
- Mason Jars – pint-sized
- Piping Bag – you can also use a plastic ziploc bag with a corner cut off
How to Make Cupcakes in a Jar
Carefully separate your cupcakes into 2 equal part by pulling the tops off the bottom. Place the bottoms of the cupcakes into the bottom of the Mason jars. Pipe a layer of frosting on top of the cupcake.
Add the cupcake top to the jar on top of the frosting. Pipe 1 more layer of frosting on top of the cupcake. Add some sprinkles.
Put the lid on each jar and refrigerate or keep at room temperature until ready to serve.
…that’t it! Easy peasy!
