This non-alcoholic dirty monkey frozen drink recipe is based off of the virgin dirty monkey mocktail I enjoyed on a recent Princess cruise. Made with bananas, cream and chocolate, this frozen drink recipe is a refreshing option for a sunny day.

Dirty Monkey Drink
My husband and I don’t drink alcohol, but that doesn’t mean we don’t appreciate a fun and delicious frozen drink! Today I’m sharing a new mocktail recipe inspired by my favorite drink of choice from our recent Princess Cruise vacation!
Since we aren’t alcohol drinkers, the idea of ordering a mixed drink was sort of new territory for us. After drinking a couple virgin piña coladas and strawberry daiquiris (sometimes mixing the two), I went on Instagram and asked for more mocktail suggestions.
The most popular answer by far was to order a drink called the dirty monkey. I had never heard of this drink before, and I literally had no idea what was in it! I ordered it at lunch that afternoon and in just a few sips I knew my mocktail preference had changed forever!
What Is A Dirty Monkey
A dirty monkey cocktail is a frozen drink made with the delicious combination of chocolate, bananas and half and half. It is creamy, sweet and perfectly refreshing.
I found this drink actually goes by two different names; the dirty monkey or the dirty banana. I think it just depends on who the bar tender is because some referred to it with one name and others with the other. Either way, you’re going to love it!
How To Make A Dirty Banana
I knew I would want to recreate this drink for my kids at home, so I watched one of the bartenders carefully work his magic. The ingredients to make a dirty monkey are simple; you just need half and half, chocolate syrup, bananas and ice.
When I returned home, I looked online for a dirty monkey recipe, but all the recipes I found used more than the 4 ingredients that were used on our cruise. Some of the recipes used specialty products that I’ve never heard of, and I was not interested in searching high and low at the grocery store and spending unnecessary money. So I decided to come up with my own recipe and I have to say, it is so, so good!
Step 1 – Place all of your ingredients into the blender.
Step 2 – Blend everything for about 30 seconds until it’s nice and smooth.
Step 3 – If the consistency is a little thick, add another 1/4 cup of half and half and blend it a little more.
Step 4 – Pour into a cup and top it with some delicious whipped cream and then sit by the pool and enjoy it!

Dirty Monkey Mocktail
Sipping this delicious chocolate-banana drink brings me back to that amazing 7-day Caribbean cruise. In fact, if I close my eyes and block out all the noise in the house from the kids, I can almost imagine myself sitting poolside on the Lido deck.
Well… almost!
