It’s definitely challenging trying to balance nutritious meals and daily exercise with all of the other obligations on my plate: work, school activities, sports for the kids, running the household, etc.
But I’ve definitely found that my day goes better when I start off with a nutritious breakfast. Protein shakes are my favorite breakfast choice because they’re quick to make, easy to take on the go, and they help get me through the morning.
Raspberry + chocolate is one of my favorite flavor combinations, but it tastes even better when I know that what I’m eating is good for me too. This smooth and creamy protein shake is the perfect way to start the day, and it tastes just like dessert!
Here’s how to make this delicious protein smoothie –
How To Make A Raspberry Chocolate Protein Shake
INGREDIENTS –
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 3/4 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
- 12 ounces milk – I use vanilla flavored soy milk, but you can use regular milk, almond milk, coconut milk, dairy-free milk, etc.
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
DIRECTIONS –
- Blend all ingredients in your blender until smooth.
- Serve immediately.
VARIATIONS –
The best part about this raspberry smoothie recipe is it also serves as a good base for all your favorite flavour combinations!
- Add a scoop of peanut butter (or almond butter) and a banana in place of the raspberries for a completely different shake! (That one tastes amazing!)
- Swap the chocolate for some vanilla protein powder for a completely different taste!
- Swap out the raspberries for any other fruits or veggies of your choice – apple, mango, cherry, cranberry, carrot, etc.
- Add more vitamins and fiber to your shake with a spoonful of nuts and seeds – sunflower seeds, flax seeds, chia seeds, etc.
- Make your shake creamier by adding some Greek yogurt.
