These Take-5 Cookie Bites are simple to make and totally delicious! What’s not to love about chocolate, pretzels, caramel, and peanut butter?!
Here are a few more cookie recipes we think you’ll LOVE – Caramel Chocolate Chips Cookies, Sugar Cookie Bars, Rolo Cookie Bites, and Cake Mix Cookies.
A couple of months ago we were talking about our favorite candy bars. When I mentioned Twix, my kids were all in agreement. But when I mention Take 5, they were so confused – they’ve never heard of these before! How sad is it that Take 5 bars are hard to find at the store nowadays?
Luckily, these delicious flavors are easy to reproduce, but in cookie form! Take 5 Cookies are warm, soft, and so easy to make! They only call for 3 ingredients, and they’ll be ready to eat in no time at all!
We’ve made a few cookie cups recipes over the years, and this one is similar to our Rolo Cookie Bites made with chocolate chips in the dough, but the salty pretzel bottom on this variation is a delicious twist!
Your taste buds will thank you, your waistline might hate you. 😉 (Don’t say I didn’t warn you.)
Here’s how to make these simple little sweets –
How To Make Take 5 Cookies
You can make these cookie bites as simple or as homemade as you’d like!
Storebought cookie dough is my preference for these cookies because it’s super easy and cuts down on the total time to make these. Also, there is a lot going on in these cookies, and I feel like the rest of the flavors totally mask any “storebought vibes” and you still have the “homemade cookie” feel.
But if you prefer to control your ingredients, get out your stand mixer and a large bowl and mix your favorite flour, peanut butter, vanilla extract, etc., and make a homemade cookie dough that is absolutely perfect! (Our Homemade Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies and Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookie Recipe would work great in this recipe.)
INGREDIENTS –
- chocolate covered pretzels – You can also use regular pretzels without the chocolate.
- refrigerated peanut butter cookie dough – I used the drop and bake dough that is premeasured. 1 square of dough makes 2 cookies for this recipe.
- Rolo candies – Unwrapping all of these is probably the hardest part of the recipe!
YOU WILL ALSO NEED –
- 1 mini muffin pan – Mine has 24 cups, but you can use whatever size you have. You’ll just need 1 pretzel, 1 heaping teaspoon of cookie dough, and 1 Rolo for each cup, so adjust your recipe ingredients accordingly.
DIRECTIONS –
PREP TIME- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease your mini muffin pan with non-stick cooking spray.
PRETZELS – Break the chocolate-covered pretzels into small pieces and place them flat on the bottom of each muffin cup.
COOKIE DOUGH – Scoop rounded teaspoons of the peanut butter cookie mix into muffin tins, on top of broken pretzels, and press down lightly. (If you are using break apart dough that comes in pre-measured squares, you’ll only need ½ a square per cup.)
BAKE – Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
ROLO CANDIES – When cookies are done, remove them from the oven and immediately press 1 Rolo candy into the center of each cookie.
TAP THE PAN – Once the candies are stuck in all the centers, LIGHTLY tap the pan on the counter to get the candies to drop a bit as they get melty. If you tap too hard, the cookies will come out of the pan, so be careful. This makes the candy fill in the centers so you don’t have cookies that look like nipples. 🙂 (You’re welcome for this tip.)
COOL – Let the Take 5 Cookies cool in muffin tins, then carefully twist to remove from the tin once completely cooled.
STORE – While definitely most delicious served straight from the oven, Take 5 Cookies can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator or at room temperature for up to one week.
ENJOY!
Let me know when you decide to make these. I will be over in no time with 2 glasses of cold milk!
